Ryuzaki-san

This is my take on the character L from the Death Note manga. I won't have any spoilers in the description, and I ask that anyone commenting would refrain from spoiling anything about the manga also (anything purposely or accidentally doing so will be deleted by me).

This was for a computer illustration assignment in which we had to make a drawing of a photograph of someone, scan it in, and trace it however we like. We were encouraged not to trace the photograph itself, but instead our own drawn version of it (the amount of characterization being up to the artist). My reference was my Japanese friend Keita, and this is definitely not a perfect likeness, but that really wasn't what I was going for. I wanted a Keita/L hybrid, and I think I acheived it to my liking. This is only my 2nd time doing something with Adobe Illustrator and I feel that it is a program I can learn to love. I'm doing an advertisement for the Nintendo Wii with this program also and I'll be sure to post it sometime this week after it's finished.

If you don't know anything about this series, then go pick it up. Very suspenseful and entertaining, with humor thrown in occassionally. Best $8 you'll ever spend. I guarantee.
